GEORGE C. PELL IS A  CONVICTED CRIMINAL.

The People of the State of Illinois v. George C. Pell, Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois Case No. 07-CR-19351.

On August 21, 2007, the Cook County State’s Attorney approved a Felony Complaint charging George C. Pell with secretly using a recording device to spy on a woman and others. The next day, August 22, 2007, George C. Pell was arrested by the Cook County Sheriff and brought before a Judge of the Circuit Court, who set bond at $50,000. That same day, the State’s Attorney requested an Order of Protection a/k/a Restraining Order to protect his Victim. According to the State’s Attorney, George Pell had a history of violence, and his Victim feared for her safety. Based on the evidence presented, the Court promptly entered the requested Order of Protection, and further ordered George C. Pell to surrender his Illinois Firearms Owners Identification Card and guns to the Sheriff.

Given the gravity of the crime, on September 12, 2007, George C. Pell was charged in a 9-COUNT CRIMINAL FELONY INDICTMENT BY A COOK COUNTY GRAND JURY for Residential Burglary under 720 ILCS 5\19-3(a) and Eavesdropping 720-5\14-2(A). According to the Indictment, on or about July 2, 2007, George C. Pell: Broke into his Victim’s home, and covertly installed a video camera in her bathroom and a recording device in her bedroom to spy on her and others living in the Victim’s home.

In 2009, in a plea bargain with Prosecutors, the charges were reduced to a misdemeanor offence (720 ILCS 5/26-4 Unauthorized video recording and live video transmission). George C. Pell plead Guilty as Charged. The Court spared George jail time and instead sentenced him to 24 months’ probation and ordered him to comply with the following conditions:

  • Report to and comply with reporting and treatment requirements of the Cook County Adult Probation Department.
  • Refrain from possessing a firearm or other dangerous weapons.
  • Not leave the State without consent of the Court.
  • Perform 40 hours of community service.
  • Avoid contact with the victim of his crime.

As for the Order of Protection, the Court repeatedly found him a danger to his Victim and the Order was kept in place for a remarkable SIX YEARS. In the end, ask yourself, who puts a video recorder in a woman’s bathroom? The answer is ….. George C. Pell.
